OUR ROOTS & VALUES

Why We Gather

Feast of Nourishment began with a simple belief: shared seasonal meals on the land can help people feel seen, welcomed, and connected.

What We’re Growing

Four Pillars of Every Seasonal Feast

Seasonal

We cook with what the land is offering right now—fresh, local, and in rhythm with the season. Each gathering highlights ingredients with a place-based story and honors the hands that grew them.

Welcoming

Come as you are. We design the table so newcomers and long-time neighbors feel equally at home, with clear guidance, gentle hosting, and room for every voice and background.

Shared

Food tastes different when it’s made and eaten together. We invite people to contribute—stories, traditions, helping hands—and to practice listening across cultures with care.

Grounded

We meet on the land to slow down and be present. From simple rituals to unhurried meals, the feast becomes a way to reconnect—with nature, with community, and with yourself.

Our Organizers

The People Behind the Feast

A small team of hosts and makers, gathering neighbors across cultures around seasonal food and shared land.

Maya Rivera

Project Steward & Community Host

Maya holds the center of Feast of Nourishment—shaping each gathering with care, clarity, and a deep welcome. She partners with growers, neighbors, and cooks to create tables where newcomers and long-timers feel at home, with logistics that make it easy to simply arrive and belong.

Samir Haddad

Kitchen Lead & Seasonal Menu Maker

Samir coordinates the cooking team and helps turn what the land offers into a meal that feels generous and familiar—no matter your background. He loves potluck-style abundance, shared recipes, and thoughtful dietary options, so everyone can take part without having to explain themselves.

Leah Chen

Land & Sourcing Coordinator

Leah connects the feast to the season—building relationships with local farms and stewards, and helping us cook in a way that honors place. She’s the one asking what’s ready now, what can be harvested respectfully, and how we can reduce waste while increasing nourishment.

Jordan Williams

Gathering Producer & Volunteer Care

Jordan makes the gatherings run smoothly—from arrival to cleanup—so the focus stays on connection. They support volunteers, accessibility needs, and the small details that help people relax: clear signage, warm greetings, and spaces for kids, elders, and anyone who needs a quieter corner.
